Weird Wings - Lifting Bodies - Northrop HL-10

The HL-10 made its first flight on 22 December 1966. The first rocket-powered flights were made by the HL-10 from a B-52 on 13th November 1968. The HL-10 was to attain Mach 1.9 and exceed an altitude of 90,000 ft (27430 m.).

By the time testing ended in 1973 the M2-F2 and HL-10 had both provided valuable information for NASA's Space Shuttle program.
